Tawharanui Camping

October 21 - 23 2023  |  Tawharanui Regional Park Campground

Tawharanui campground, Matakana, New Zealand

Hey young adults! Labour Day is coming up and that means it’s time to hit the beach and go camping!
Spend some quality time together at one of Auckland’s most beautiful beaches. Play some volleyball, read a book, chat to some friends, hit the surf, cook some sweet kai, go for a walk to the giant rockpool, or check out some baby lambs. It’s going to be a great time so let’s get together and enjoy this amazing beach on our first long weekend in four months!
Some things to note:
  • We have booked 40 spots for Sat & Sun nights. If you would like to book for just one specific night, please book yourself in via the Auckland Council website.
  • We will set up early Saturday morning but please feel free to arrive whenever you want.
  • We’ll find a spot and let you know what part of the campsite we’ve set up.
  • You’ll need to arrange your own transport, food, and tents. Get in touch with James Roberts if you need any help.
  • The campsite has basic amenities, including drop toilets and taps for water. There is no electricity and no showers or cooking facilities.
  • Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you the access code for the gate to get into the campsite.
  • Bring rubbish bags – Auckland Council ask that you take any rubbish home with you as there are no bins on site.
  • Feel free to join us for a day trip (no registration required).
