Alpha is an opportunity to explore life, faith and God in a friendly, open and informal environment. It is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Alpha runs in over 100 countries in over 112 languages. Millions of people have taken the course. Everyone’s welcome!
Each session looks at a different question, and is assigned to create conversation. No two Alphas look the same – they run in coffee shops, churches, bars, prisons, universities, schools and homes. There’s no pressure, no follow-up and no charge; it’s just an open, informal, and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.
What’s Involved?
Food. Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. Each session will start with dessert at 7:30PM.
Talk. The video talks are engaging and inspire conversation. Each one explores the big issues around faith and unpacks the basics of Christianity, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “How can we have faith?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
Discussion. Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas about the talk without being corrected or judged. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly, and open environment.
