- Revelation 2: Grace and Peace, Glory and Power (1:4-8)
Sunday Morning Service, August 28th 2016
The text we studied last week (1:1-4a) assured us that when we read the book of Revelation we aren’t reading the ramblings or best guesses of a mere human but the Word of God. We learnt that the time of Christ’s return “is near” and that those who obey the instructions contained in Revelation will be blessed. All this encourages us to listen closely to what Jesus is revealing and to remain loyal to him in the face of trials and temptations.
This week our hearts will soar as we are wowed by an amazing description of the Trinity and especially of Jesus Christ.
Prepare yourself to feast on phrases and titles like: the Alpha and Omega; the one who is, and who was, and who is to come; the ruler of the kings of the earth; Look, he is coming with the clouds; and, the Almighty.
Revelation 1:4-8 should encourage every Christian, including those who are struggling, because in these verses God makes it very clear – he has everything under control.
